1. Detail guy comes out. Says there’s no issues. Says you’ll get your quote shortly.
16. Never, ever, ever shop at the Jonesborough, TN Lowe’s again.
8. You’re desperate. You go with them anyway. But they won’t tell you what the install schedule is until you pay in full.
15. Double check your refund is correct. With this Lowe’s, it’s bound to be messed up.
We always go to the Lowes in Jonesborough and get asked multiple times, do we need help with anything? Great place and Good Customer Service
This is what will happen if you do:
6. Lindsey (Lindsay?) in Customer Service swoops in to save you. She is the only reason this review gets a single star. She is the only person who cares or follows through on their promises to get your problem fixed. She is the only one to personally email you an invoice and contract, at last.
2. Quote is left via voicemail, even though Home Depot and an independent contractor both sent detailed invoices via e-mail. But the Lowe’s price is cheaper, so you go with them.
12. When you drive up on install day to meet the crew, no one is there. Nothing is done. You call this 3rd party contractor, and the receptionist says the crew did not expect to remove old flooring, or install a moisture barrier, or disconnect a gas furnace (which was a small fireplace left by the old owners and was already disconnected). You paid for all of these things, except the moisture barrier, because it turns out that Lowe’s does not install those, despite being told that they would add it on. Basically, the crew walked in, looked around, and walked back out, with no called to let you know. Good thing you showed up, or you would’ve tried to move in and then had to move right back out again.
3. No one at Lowe’s is ever in the Flooring or Install departments. Every time you call, for 2 weeks straight, you will be put through an endless ringing cycle at least 3 times. It rings, you go back to the menu or customer service. It rings, you’re back again. Etc.
10. You finally get your install date. You plan to move in right away, once the new floor is down. You will be disappointed.
Great having a Lowe's in Tennessee's oldest town. All my carpentry needs, construction and interior materials are purchased here. Thanks
My husband had a problem with the my Lowe's card linking up to the veterans discount. Rupe the service manager took the time to help us with the issue. He was very helpful and even asked if we had time for him to check on it. Thank you for your time
DO NOT USE THIS STORE FOR FLOORING INSTALLATION.
11. The materials are delivered ahead of time, on a random date with no warning. You live 3 hours away, which you’ve told Lowe’s multiple times. You are not there to receive them, and have to reschedule and make an extra trip.
4. Since you can’t move into a house with moldy old carpet, you put off your move and job search waiting for Lowe’s to get their act together.
5. Finally, when you DO happen to get someone on the phone, they tell you you’re too early or too late to reach the one single person in the entire store who can actually schedule your install. They will tell you someone will call you back. They are lying.
13. Lowe’s calls you, for the first time, because the 3rd party contractor called them. The guy on the phone has no idea what’s happening, so you tell him you want a refund for everything but the materials, which are there already.
9. You try to pay in full. You live 3 hours away and have to do the transaction on the phone. Someone at Lowe’s accidentally runs two $1,000 charges and then cancels them, making your bank think you’re trying to go over your credit limit. You spend hours calling the bank, calling the store, and back and forth. You decide to try again the next day, and thank goodness, it works.
7. The one single guy who can schedule you finally gives you a call, but here’s the catch: no one you spoke with before “has any idea what they’re doing” (his words) and your quote has been $500 short this entire time.
I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH LOWES FOR 31 YEARS SINCE DOWN ON THE ERWIN HWY THEN ROAN ST ON TO MARKET AND NOW HERE IN JONESBOROUGH. THIS STORE IS AWESOME, ANYTIME THERE WAS AN ISSUE IT HAS BEEN HANDLED, RECENTLY I HAD A PROBLEM WITH A B&D CHAIN SAW, IT WAS TOTALLY MY ISSUE, I DID IT, NO FAULT OF PRODUCT OR LOWES, I PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD INCORRECTLY BY THE WARRANTY COMPAY ABOUT COVERAGE, I WENT TO MANAGER HEATH, HE SAID THAT WHAT THEY SAID WAS INCORRECT, INSTEAD OF SENDING ME BACK TO THE PHONES HE TOOK CARE OF IT AT THE STORE, HAD ME RETURN THE UNIT AND HANDED ME A NEW ONE. THIS IS OVER AND ABOVE WHAT WAS EXPECTED. MY CONTINUED SUPPORT AND BUSINESS WILL BE STILL WITH LOWE'S... THANK YOU HEATH, YOU ARE AWESOME
14. You end up having to remove and install your entire floor yourself, with the help of your handy family, which luckily flips houses for a living. Unfortunately they work, and the drive is killer, so your move (and job!!!) is still going to be postponed until the floor can be completed. 1 weekend = ~1/3 done.
