This is our 7th year attending the story tellers convention the primary show we see is go stories in the park it's an amazing family oriented festival very wholesome we look forward to it every year
The location of the Annual Storytelling festival is the oldest town in Tennessee. History-rich, with an abundance of local shops (coffee, fresh produce, etc.), the people were extremely friendly to out-of-town visitors. Books to borrow on almost any aspect of storytelling are available in the Center, and the gift shop is wonderful. Looking forward to attending the festival October 5-7, 2018. From the website:
This is an excellent space dedicated to featuring storytelling performances. Everything from personal stories to folk and fairy tales may be told on their stage. The theater there is a great performance space, and there is not a bad seat in the house!
On a warm October weekend in 1973 in historic Jonesborough, the first National Storytelling Festival was held. Hay bales and wagons were the stages, and audience and tellers together didn’t number more than 60. It was tiny, but something happened that weekend that forever changed our culture, this traditional art form, and the little Tennessee town.
What a marvelous experience at the national storytelling festival. I want to go back every year!
We went to this venue for the first time and found it to be a very comfortable small theater ( 200 seats more or less). The story teller was excellent and we totally enjoyed our experience.
